Review: Never Mess With a Pirate Princess written by Holly Ryan, illustrated by Siân Roberts.

Princess Prue is brave and headstrong. After being told she is too small to help, she wants to prove them wrong. She goes after the Pirates to rescue her Bear, Prue tells the Pirates off, she is ‘firm but fair’.

What an excellent story. Funny, full of action, adventure, plus breaking down gender stereotypes!

Princess Prue is a brilliant role model for little ones. The story is appealing to young children whilst having the added layer of messaging about not being held back by stereotypes.

Ali loved looking at all the pictures and particularly enjoyed the part where Prue takes Bear to the loo with her!!

The illustrations are beautiful, colourful, and detailed. The writing is fluent and fun, the book would make an excellent group reading book in nursery/reception.

Thank you to Toppsta for the book we won in a giveaway, Ali was thrilled with it!
